$1.6 Million Prize Turns Playful Joke into a Reality for Fonthill Resident

As soon as Jeannette Kulik of Fonthill heard, “Hi, this is Glenn Craig calling,” she immediately knew that her life was about to change. She was the lucky grand prize winner of the Thunder Bay April 50/50 winning an incredible $1,638,382.
“Stop,” Jeannette said, completely caught off guard. When Hospital Foundation CEO, Glenn Craig, joked, “Do you want me to hang up and call someone else?” she quickly replied, “No, no, no, please talk, please talk.”
Just the day before, she had joked with co-workers that she was going to win the lottery and retire. Now, that joke had suddenly become reality. “People are not going to believe me,” she said. “I told them I was going to win and now I have!”
So what is Jeannette going to do with her winnings? Retirement is at the top of her list but she has a few other ideas in mind. “Probably some projects around the house, maybe take a trip or buy a new car,” she said.
Although she lives in Fonthill, Jeannette shared a heartfelt connection to our region. “I'm a northern girl at heart, my parents were both from the north,” she said. “I spent many summers up north.”
As the call wrapped up, Glenn happily pointed out to Jeannette, “It's tax-free, you get to keep the whole $1.6 million.”
The Thunder Bay 50/50 continues to change lives with every draw. Don't miss your chance to be the next big winner! Over $65 million in prizes has been awarded across Ontario, with this draw now marking its 20th consecutive millionaire.
