Yasmeen Almukamis of Cambridge was awarded the September Thunder Bay 50/50 Grand Prize of $2,439,295.
This is the fourteenth consecutive multi-million dollar prize awarded. During the “now-famous” 11:00 Grand Prize winner call, Yasmeen shared that she had been recently laid-off from her job, and that the news couldn't have come at a better time.
As a long-time supporter of the Thunder Bay 50/50, she picked up on the very first ring right at 11:00, and definitely had an “inkling” of what the call was all about.
“My heart is palpitating, I'm here with my mother and she told me to make sure it wasn't a scam” said Yasmeen, “I'm so grateful for this win, but I'm also happy that this all goes to such a great cause, I couldn't think of a better organization to support.”
October's Thunder Bay 50/50 is now live, and all signs lead to it being one of the largest in the Foundation's history. There are $225,000 in total Early Bird Prizes, 37 total chances to win and the return of bonus (and the fan-favourite “Super Bonus Numbers”).
To date, over $113 million in prizes have been awarded to players across Ontario, while proceeds from every ticket sold support essential equipment at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Thanks to the incredibly generous support from Balmoral Park Acura and the Witiluk Family, this year's winner won't just take home one vehicle, but two. The two vehicles up for grabs are a 2026 Acura MDX Type-S Ultra, and a 2026 Acura ADX A-Spec. Together, they're valued at $166,000.
